Purchasing & delivery policy

I want you to feel confident buying online and put a lot of care into the safe packaging and despatch of my products and artworks.

At present I’m selling to UK buyers only but if you are from outside the UK and see something you’re interested in please get in touch to discuss international shipping.

Despatch & postage costs

Please be aware that as items on the website come from different locations they may arrive at different times.

Art kits, original art, sketchbooks and greeting cards are all despatched by me from Eastleigh, Hampshire UK by Royal Mail 1st class or ParcelForce within 1-3 days of order being received. At busy times it may take a little longer but you will be informed of this. If you have a specific deadline to meet please get in touch prior to ordering to discuss.

Limited edition giclée prints are despatched by a specialist art printing company in London within 1-3 days arriving approximately 5-7 after the order is placed, often sooner, you will receive tracking information with your order confirmation.

I cannot be held responsible for delivery delays caused by issues beyond my control for example industrial action & Covid related backlogs. Your order will come with tracking information which should allow you to track progress but where there is a substantial delay please get in touch I will do my best to resolve the issue.

Selling outside the UK

I’m currently selling within the UK only but have an etsy shop where some items are available for international sale. Please note lino & cyanotype kits cannot be sent abroad due to postal restrictions on the contents. For other items e.g. original art, giclée prints, cards etc please get in touch and I will do a custom quote for international postage. Get in touch at info@katewatkins.co.uk

Where items are sold abroad the buyer is responsible for any customs charges incurred on arrival in the destination country. I cannot refund any additional charges you may have to pay when your item arrives.

Packing

All items are carefully packed according to the size and type of item/artwork, and I make sure that they all leave in the condition I would expect them to arrive.

As original prints are one offs they will be carefully packaged in either a robust cardboard tube where they are larger than A3 or if they have a card mount they will be packed flat between stiff boards so they are well protected; If ordering more than one print, where safe to do so, they will be packaged and sent together.

A3 or smaller prints are sent flat, in board-backed envelopes/mailers, with additional board protection. Art kits will be wrapped in a recycled cardboard bookwrap

I try to keep plastic use to a minimum and the majority of my packaging is recycled and/or recyclable. In some cases some of your packing materials cardboard may be recycled e.g. cardboard sheets.

Unwrapping

I would recommend having original art works unpacked and framed by a professional framer to avoid any damage at the unpacking stage. Rolled prints will need a day or so weighted down to return to their original flat state. This is done prior to framing. I cannot be held responsible for damage/marks/creases incurred during unwrapping or careless handling of prints. As original prints on paper they are by their nature delicate items so care should be taken.

As with the majority of artworks care should be taken to store and display prints out of direct sunlight.

I want you to be happy with your new art. If you have any questions please contact me in advance at info@katewatkins.co.uk

Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size, colour and finish. The image you see online may show a difference due to slight variation between browsers, devices and screen settings. Any variation between the image represented and the actual artwork is not deemed a fault and slight inconsistencies will not be a valid reason for return. Please remember original artworks are handmade pieces usually on fine art paper and will have signs of the process on them e.g. ink texture. If you wish to see additional photos prior to purchase it may be possible to arrange this.

Do you give a refund on giclée prints if I change my mind?
All giclée prints are custom made to the size you request and therefore I am not able to refund or exchange these unless faulty. Please check the size is as you wish before you place the order. If buying a print to fit a particular frame it’s a good idea to check the frame size first before ordering or if you want a different size please get in touch.

All work is carefully packed and wrapped. If you receive an item that has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days with a photograph including original packaging materials. This is necessary to process claims against the postal carrier.
